James C. Buchanan, III has been a broker with Gerald L. Gamble Co., Inc., Commercial and Industrial Realtors, since 1977. Principal activities include real estate brokering and investments in the Oklahoma City area. Areas of concentration include large investment properties and land for development. Clients have included John Hancock, Chase Manhattan Bank, Hertz Corporation, Kerr-McGee, Dow-Jones, the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, Ideal Homes, and other local developers.

Buchanan has negotiated the sale of various landmark properties in Oklahoma City, including the 155,000 sq.ft. Waterford Office Complex, the 100,000 sq.ft. Colcord Office Building, and assemblage of land for Remington Park Racetrack for the DeBartolo Corporation.

Professional and civic activities have included past-President of the Oklahoma City Food Bank, member of the Board of Directors of the Downtown Rotary Club, member of the Economic Club, Administrative Board Chairman of Nichols Hills United Methodist Church, and Membership Vice-President of the Last Frontier Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Buchanan and his wife, Becky, are natives of Muskogee, and Buchanan is a graduate of Harvard College, having received his MBA at Harvard Business School.
